It may not be common knowledge, but the Fireflies have a big soft spot for working with non-profit organizations. In fact, many of us began our careers using our skills to promote the mission of various local non-profits. That's why each year, we seek out organizations that have an incredible impact on the communities in which they serve.

It may not be common knowledge, but the Fireflies have a big soft spot for working with non-profit organizations. In fact, many of us began our careers using our skills to promote the mission of various local non-profits. That’s why each year, we seek out organizations that have an incredible impact on the communities in which they serve.

On this #GivingTuesday, we ask you to consider supporting a few of our friends.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southwest Virginia

Our local chapter of the international non-profit organization, Ronald McDonald House Charities, finished up a website project with us, along with launching a brand new giving platform, just in time for Giving Tuesday.

This localized charity, Ronald McDonald House of Southwest Virginia, is just blocks away from the Carilion Children’s Hospital in Roanoke Memorial. They provide a home away from home for families who have brought their children to the hospital to seek care. Here, volunteers and employees provide a place for families to rest their head, get a hot meal, and feel a sense of community and support.

Make sure you hit that big red “Donate” button!

Volunteer Fairfax

Our friends at Volunteer Fairfax play the role of a vital connection between the vast population of Northern Virginians who seek to give back to their community and the non-profits who need them. This organization pairs individuals, groups, and corporations that are seeking ways to provide time and resources to hundreds of non-profits in Northern Virginia. Anyone and everyone can find a community of like-minded individuals who support a similar cause. Giving Tuesday isn’t just about giving money. See if you can find a program you’re interested in!

We’ve just begun our website project with them that will streamline the process of finding and connecting with a non-profit that matches your interests. We look forward to helping them utilize a variety of digital marketing methods to deliver the new website to those people.

United Way of Roanoke Valley

As you may know, two of our partners got their start working at United Way of Roanoke Valley and we still have strong ties with them today. Last year, we helped them launch a new website that better tells the story of the many lives they touch with their signature programming and non-profit partners as well as the “It Takes the Valley” fundraising campaign.

As long as there are individuals who need help in our Valley, their work is never done. With their recent expansion into Franklin County, their impact is bigger than ever. We hope you and your workplace will consider supporting them this year with a Workplace Campaign – the gift that keeps giving.
