Notable Nerds: New Hires + Recent Promotions
Firefli is growing–but it’s more than that.
Our commitment to producing inspired, creative work for our clients wouldn’t be possible without an all-star team. Recently, we took stock of our people, our process, and the path forward, and we realized: not only did we have room to grow, but we had room to grow intentionally. By strategically expanding our team to include members with different skill sets and perspectives, we could open ourselves–and our clients–up to a whole new world of possibilities.
As we searched for new team members, the modern climate of remote and hybrid work really reiterated that talent can–and does–come from anywhere. Today, Firefli is dedicated to being a distributed company with team members located all across the US. Whether near or far, the level of devotion our team brings to the table is unmatched.
Getting Creative
At Firefli, we take creativity seriously. Lately, we’ve had the opportunity to explore different creative avenues–interactive design, content creation, and media production, to name a few–with one goal in mind: developing innovative, effective brand solutions for our clients. Meet the exceptional new team members helping us to ‘get creative’!
Gary Gilmore
The newest addition to Firefli, Gary Gilmore, has joined Firefli as Vice President of Brand. Gary will lead the team in developing breakthrough creative content that helps our clients achieve their goals. By combining strong creative leadership with his extensive knowledge of brand strategy and design, Gary will work with the team to carry campaigns from ideation to implementation.
Will Sellari
Also joining Firefli is Will Sellari, an expert in visual storytelling, creative development, and content creation. In his role as Creative Production Lead, Will has focused his experience in aligning filmmaking, marketing, and advertising to help elevate and realize our clients’ goals.
Ashley Perez
Joining the Firefli as Interactive Art Director, Ashley Perez brings more than a decade of web design experience to the table. A dedicated creative who thrives on collaboration and critical thinking, she’s known for creating effective design solutions that both users and developers love. This summer, Ashley will be helping Firefli’s interns learn the ins-and-outs of accessible design.
Emily Senesac
We’d also like to welcome Emily Senesac, Web Writer and Producer, to the Firefli team. Emily combines thoughtful brand research, design team collaboration, and user experience best practices to create content that is bold, user-centered, and in alignment with client goals. Additionally, she works in tandem with developers to carry website production through its final stages, including content migration and SEO optimization.
Sara Schober
As our team continues to grow, so do our administrative needs! As Firefli’s Administrative Assistant, Sara Schober helps with the office’s day-to-day operations and provides invaluable support to the entire team. She ensures that the office–and our projects– are always running smoothly and on time. As a professional food photographer, her ability to see the world through a creative lens perfectly compliments our office’s workflow. In Sara’s words, she helps the team turn “to-dos” into “to-dones”!
“What sets Firefli apart comes down to the people we surround ourselves with,” says Greg Brock, Founder and CEO of Firefli. “Having the right talent mix translates into a stronger culture, better creative work, and, ultimately, happier clients. As we continue to grow, we’re truly assembling a superhero team of high-caliber digital professionals. I’m so proud to work alongside these fantastic humans and look forward to watching what the next decade brings for Firefli.”
Greg Brock, Founder and CEO
Stepping Up
In addition to our external growth, three of our talented team members have been recognized for their commitment to honing their skills and have been met with the opportunity to take on more responsibility. We want to take this moment to congratulate John Cornthwait, Sarah Larson, and Carly York on their recent promotions!
John Cornthwait
Previously Vice President of Products, John has recently been promoted to President and Chief Operating Officer of Firefli. In this new role, John will continue to lead the team in planning, designing, and building websites while also taking on additional business opportunities and oversight.
Sarah Larson
Sarah Larson, who formerly worked as a Client Services Associate, has grown into the role of Project Manager and has been certified by the Project Management Institute. As the team takes on creative projects, Sarah documents and coordinates all team efforts, liaises with clients, and helps inspire and motivate the team through each step of the process.
Carly York
In her previous role as Production Designer, Carly York sharpened her skills in visual storytelling and design. Now, as the team’s Art Director, she combines her strengths to create and communicate compelling artistic concepts, design systems, and strategies that intrigue and inspire both peers and clients.
