Firefli is currently seeking a uniquely qualified individual to be our Content Marketing Specialist. This position will collaborate with the Firefli Strategy team to execute content marketing strategies and actively produce content for multiple clients.

The ideal candidate must have a keen understanding of how strategic content within brand voice fits into integrated digital eco-systems. Firefli is looking for someone who is passionate about content marketing as a means of building customer relationships and increasing conversion opportunities. This role requires creation of relevant stories for our clients on multiple platforms, causing target audiences to take action, and driving multi-faceted engagement.

Moreover, as a nimble and in-demand agency, each firefli commonly wears many hats to better serve clients. Therefore, we’re seeking someone who can fill this highly productive role while juggling the challenges of working in a fast-paced, client-first environment.

Responsibilities

Content Production—60%

  • Produce content assets on behalf of clients as part of their on-going content marketing strategy.
  • Produce creative social media content that maximizes community engagement and oversee its implementation.
  • Assist in other forms of content production, including videos, blogs, emails, infographics, etc.

Content Amplification Strategy—20%

  • Work alongside the Strategy team to understand clients’ needs and assist in developing content marketing and/or social media plans, including monthly content calendars, platform recommendations, ongoing engagement strategies, etc.
  • Plan both client and internal (for Firefli’s digital presence) content calendars as needed and adhere to appropriate approval processes.
  • Monitor and moderate user engagement on numerous social channels (both client and internal).
  • Be responsible for appropriately responding to user comments or questions in a manner consistent with Firefli’s social media policy.

Moderation—10%

Monitoring/Reporting—5%

  • Contribute to monitoring/reporting of content strategy, social media analytics, and social media advertising effectiveness for numerous clients on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.
  • Assist in analyzing qualitative and quantitative data in order to optimize the content calendar and revise campaigns.

Content Trends/Education—5%

  • High awareness of new technologies, digital trends, and innovations. Ability to master new concepts quickly and adapt to emerging practices is vital.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the content marketing and social media landscape for effective new tools, trends, strategies and emerging technologies.
  • Take initiative to optimize current content marketing and social media products/tools/processes/services.
  • Bolster company-wide content marketing knowledge by supporting internal staff trainings, knowledge-sharing processes, and best practices when possible.

Role Requirements

  • Clear expertise and confidence as a writer and/or communicator.
  • Must have strong client presentation skills with ability to present complex material in simple terms.
  • Display leadership and strong initiative.
  • Ability to work independently, but within a collaborative, team environment.
  • Be comfortable maintaining/moderating numerous social media channels for clients in a variety of industries.
  • Must have experience planning and managing social ad campaigns (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  • Experience creating analytic reports.
  • Must have experience utilizing a modern Content Management System (CMS), such as WordPress.
  • Experience or working knowledge of optimizing content for search engines and social platforms.
  • Be willing to pursue knowledge base growth.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. at our office in Roanoke, Virginia.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • 5-7 years of combined education and experience in content strategy, social media, content production, web writing, and/or professional communication.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a similar field.
